As summer transitioned into early autumn, the sunlight was just right. On September 1st, Boston International Pre-School (BIPS) hosted a unique opening celebration—the "Alice Wonderland · Magical Opening Season" themed event. The entire campus was transformed into a dreamy "Alice in Wonderland," opening the first magical chapter of the new semester for the children.

 

Amid cheerful music, the children, dressed in various Alice-themed outfits, entered the kindergarten orderly accompanied by their parents. At the school gate, a welcome team led by Mr. Seb as the "Mad Hatter" and Mr. Brandon as the "White Rabbit" was already waiting, greeting each child with warm smiles and friendly interactions. Meanwhile, Ms. Mary as the "Red Queen" and Ms. Eli as "Alice" interacted warmly with the children in the elaborately designed themed photo area, capturing precious moments of the first day of school.

At exactly 9 a.m., the themed game session began promptly. Guided by the teaching team, the children experienced four carefully designed game stations by class, learning through play:

Tea Party Fun: In an elegant atmosphere, the children enjoyed delicate tea snacks. Under the guidance of their teachers, they gained an initial understanding of tea culture etiquette and learned the basics of sharing and socializing.

Fun Maze: Combining fitness equipment with a ground maze, the children not only exercised their physical coordination but also cultivated courage and focus to face challenges head-on as they broke through the levels.

Garden Hand Fun: Using eco-friendly materials like egg cartons, clay, and twigs, the children fully unleashed their imagination and hands-on skills to create various "mushroom" handicrafts, unlocking their creative potential.

Castle Riddle Funs: The children transformed into "little detectives," enhancing their observation and associative thinking skills by finding shadow cards and matching them with corresponding items in a fun exploration.

To ensure a smooth start to the new semester, the entire staff of BIPS began comprehensive preparations a week earlier, safeguarding the children’s growth with professionalism and meticulousness:

Our Principal Ms. Emily outlined the kindergarten’s development plans and goals for the new semester, clarifying the educational direction. Subsequently, the Kindergarten Affairs Department conducted multiple specialized training sessions covering personnel policies, health care standards, student analysis, and systematic teaching implementation. Through comprehensive and multi-level training, every staff member was equipped to devote themselves to the new semester with professional competence and full enthusiasm, providing high-quality educational services for the children.

The teachers carefully arranged the classrooms, from thematic wall decorations to area designs, from teaching preparations to sanitation and disinfection. Every detail reflected their love and expectations for the children. By August 29th, all environmental setups were completed, ensuring the smooth execution of the start-of-school activities.

On August 30th, we successfully held a new parent orientation, building the first bridge for home-school communication. From check-in and receiving admission offers to introductions to the kindergarten, from curriculum explanations to discussions on separation anxiety, every step aimed to help parents fully understand BIPS’s educational philosophy and management system. The face-to-face meeting with teachers allowed parents to communicate directly with homeroom teachers, further clarifying the direction and focus of home-school collaboration and laying a solid foundation for future cooperative education efforts.

The activities of the first day of school have concluded successfully, but the wonderful stories of BIPS’s new semester have just begun. In the future, BIPS will continue to uphold the "Holistic Education Philosophy," nurturing students’ curiosity and talents , empowering them to grow into confident, well-rounded, and globally minded citizens within a warm, loving, multicultural, and caring, multicultural, and inclusive community.
